Real Madrid are dealing with more than just problems on the pitch, with fresh reports pointing to growing instability within the structure itself.

According to Mundo Deportivo, there are increasing signs that internal harmony is breaking down.

The report highlights ongoing friction between Jose Angel Sanchez, the club’s general manager, and Anas Laghrari, a close advisor to president Florentino Perez.

These tensions come at a sensitive moment for the club.

It must be noted that last year, Perez presented a proposal during the General Assembly aimed at reshaping Real Madrid’s business structure, a move that has not been universally welcomed internally.

Since then, there have been persistent rumours about disagreements over the club’s long-term direction.

What’s the story?

The situation has been further complicated by recent speculation that Madrid are looking to appoint a new sporting director

While the club officially denied those claims, the fact that such reports have surfaced only adds to the sense of uncertainty around decision-making at the boardroom level.

On the pitch, results have done little to calm the situation, as inconsistent performances from the first team have led to visible frustration among supporters, including boos and even calls for Perez to step down.

That atmosphere only increases pressure on those in charge, making any structural changes harder to implement.

Troubles behind the scenes

As per the outlet, Laghrari’s growing influence has also become a talking point.

The financier has been involved in key strategic areas, including advising on the financing of the renovated Bernabeu and playing a role in ideas linked to the European Super League project.

His presence on official trips with the team reportedly caused discomfort among sections of the fanbase.

Another issue with the situation is his past involvement in advising Barcelona on financial matters, something that has not gone down well with Madrid supporters.

Furthermore, despite the noise, Real Madrid have denied that Jose Angel Sanchez is set to leave at the end of the season.

Still, with the club facing a crucial clash against Bayern Munich and the possibility of ending the season without silverware, the pressure is mounting.
