Boca and Gimnasia de Chivilcoy reunite after 50 years in Copa Argentina | OneFootball

Sitiboca.com.ar reports that the Copa Argentina 2025 draw has handed Boca Juniors a debut against Gimnasia y Esgrima de Chivilcoy, their first official meeting and a nod to a friendly nearly 50 years ago.

The only previous encounter came on 22 October 1974 during Chivilcoy's 120th anniversary, when a packed Gimnasia y Esgrima ground welcomed Boca. The visitors ran out 6-1 winners.

Marcelo Trobbiani stole the show. He opened the scoring on 27 minutes of the first half, then in the second he completed a four-goal haul, including two penalties.

The other goals arrived via a Millozzi own goal and a memorable finish from Carlos García Cambón, who lashed a left-foot shot into the top-right corner past goalkeeper Bucciarelli.
