Boca Juniors have publicly backed the AFA amid a judicial case involving its authorities and support suspending Liga Profesional matchday nine as an exceptional step.

According to SuperDepor.com, Boca’s board expressed deep solidarity with president Claudio ‘Chiqui’ Tapia and treasurer Pablo Toviggino, saying legal action against AFA officials has caused institutional unease and disrupted the normal running of Argentine football. Rosario Central called the suspension a unanimous decision among Liga Profesional clubs and voiced concern over a systematic attack on the AFA.

Boca also stressed the need to protect stability, predictability and the member-governed non-profit model.

Rosario Central’s statement warned of economic interests and disputes over television rights, and it defended the autonomy of Argentine football.

Institutional support has multiplied in recent hours as tension grows around the case, and official confirmation is awaited on whether activity will be paused across divisions. San Lorenzo have backed the strike too, despite recently protesting that the National Transport Strike on Thursday 19 February forced fixture changes that left them only 48 hours’ rest between matchdays.
