Boca have completed the permanent sale of Mauricio Benítez to Royal Antwerp in Belgium, securing a significant fee and a future sell-on. According to LaNumer12.com.ar, the agreement follows the expiry of his initial loan.

The deal is worth two point five million dollars guaranteed, with up to 500,000 dollars in add-ons tied to sporting targets.

The club have also kept a percentage of any future transfer of the homegrown midfielder.

Benítez spent the 2025-26 season on loan in Belgian football, gaining regular minutes in the Jupiler Pro League. For Royal Antwerp he played 27 matches, scored three goals and logged almost 1,500 minutes, displays that persuaded the coaching staff to press for a permanent move.

Although Antwerp first declined to trigger a five million dollars purchase option, talks resumed once the player returned to Argentina. Training separately at Ezeiza and not in Rodolfo Arruabarrena’s plans, he saw negotiations progress to a fee acceptable to all sides.

Benítez will continue his career in Belgium. Riquelme and Delgado finalised the sale.

Despite being an outgoing international transfer, the move does not open an extra registration slot this window. Under league regulations, a slot is only granted if the player was listed on a team sheet in the first half of the year, which he was not while in Belgium.
