Boca Juniors have learned their Copa Libertadores 2026 route, heading Group D with Cruzeiro, Universidad Católica and Barcelona SC. According to LaNumer12.com.ar, the draw leaves the Argentines facing a demanding travel schedule for their three away dates.
The first major away test is Belo Horizonte to face Cruzeiro at the Mineirão. Buenos Aires to Minas Gerais is about 2,187 kilometres each way, a flight of a little over three hours that will require sharp recovery, especially given Brazilian conditions and the opponent’s intensity.
The most manageable journey is to Santiago for Universidad Católica at San Carlos de Apoquindo. The crossing is roughly 1,137 kilometres one way and about a two-hour flight, causing the least logistical strain. It should allow minimal disruption to the training week as the Torneo Apertura reaches its decisive phase.
Guayaquil presents the toughest haul to meet Barcelona SC at the Monumental Isidro Romero Carbo. The one-way trip spans around 4,255 kilometres, with flights exceeding six hours. This single tie accounts for more than half of Boca’s total travel in the group.
Overall, the round trips add up to more than 15,000 kilometres. Managing workloads and maintaining depth will be key for Boca to balance domestic duties with this Libertadores campaign.
