Boca are negotiating a new deal for Changuito Zeballos as he continues his injury rehab. According to LaNumer12.com.ar, the club want to secure the forward’s future beyond this year.
Sporting director Marcelo Delgado has been in talks with the player’s representatives. Discussions began several weeks ago to extend his contract.
Napoli are said to be tracking the 23-year-old attacker and could make an offer ahead of the next transfer window.
Zeballos’s current deal runs to December, so in the coming months he could open talks to leave if no agreement is reached. Napoli believe a fee near $10 million might be enough, but Boca dismiss that. The winger has a $20 million release clause, and if he does not renew the Italians would need to trigger it.
Zeballos is recovering from a grade two to three left biceps femoris injury that has sidelined him for about a month, with roughly another month of rehab to go. He has not played since the first of February.
