Boca returned to winning ways at La Bombonera, beating Instituto 2-0 in Zone A of the 2026 Apertura. Tomás Aranda and Adam Bareiro scored to end a run of four straight home draws.

The victory stretched Boca's unbeaten sequence to eight matches. LaNumer12.com.ar notes Claudio Úbeda appears to have settled on a midfield that dictated the contest.

Aranda, one of the youngsters who has earned a starting place, opened the scoring after collecting from Miguel Merentiel and shaking off his marker. Bareiro later positioned himself as a No 9 to add the second, with Merentiel's burst down the left key to the move.

Agustín Marchesín was quiet before the break then made two big saves, later departing with an adductor injury as Leandro Brey came on. A potential equaliser from Jeremías Lázaro was ruled out for offside after Ayrton Costa's miscue, while Lautaro Di Lollo excelled at the back.

Leandro Paredes pulled the strings with pinpoint passing, aided by Milton Delgado's industry and composure. Ander Herrera linked well, with one first-time touch leading to a shot against the post and another cross also denied by the frame.

Marcelo Weigandt struggled against Alex Luna and Lautaro Blanco had mixed moments up against Jhon Córdoba. Merentiel was erratic in front of goal and missed a close-range chance, though he repeatedly stretched Instituto.

Alan Velasco saw limited minutes after a 10-game absence. Iker Zufiaurre and Camilo Rey Domenech arrived late, the latter returning to the first team and making his eighth Boca appearance. Brey, without action since the Copa Argentina tie with Gimnasia de Chivilcoy, looked rusty with the ball at his feet.
