Boca Juniors crashed out of the Torneo Apertura 2026, beaten 3-2 after extra time by Huracán at La Bombonera. LaNumer12.com.ar said the performance was poor.

Huracán struck inside five minutes when a risky pass from Leandro Brey put Milton Delgado in trouble and Leonardo Gil scored. Hernán Galíndez excelled, saving a Miguel Merentiel header and a drive from Leandro Paredes.

Milton Giménez saw one finish ruled out for offside, then levelled after the break when the ball rebounded off his back from a Galíndez mistake. Boca pushed, but Marcelo Weigandt struggled defensively.

In extra time, Oscar Romero converted two penalties, Brey guessed the wrong way both times. Eric Ramírez was sent off late in the first period and Boca had a two-man advantage in the second. Ángel Romero headed in from a Lautaro Blanco cross, yet Huracán held on.

Player ratings underlined the contrasts. Brey was marked five, Di Lollo mixed a strong display with conceding two penalties, and Ayrton Costa was below par. Blanco impressed and created Ángel Romero’s goal, Ascacíbar and Paredes stood out, Merentiel was off colour, and Adam Bareiro departed after about 20 minutes with a psoas injury.

Claudio Úbeda was given two after delayed changes and a failure to exploit the numerical superiority during the second extra-time period. He was under scrutiny from supporters and his continuation will depend on staying in the Copa Libertadores.
