Boca Juniors have been handed a timely boost, with Milton Giménez and Carlos Palacios back in full training and available for the trip to Chile to face O'Higgins in the Copa Sudamericana return leg.
According to LaNumer12.com.ar, the attacking pair completed the session at the Ezeiza training centre without discomfort, easing concerns after the unexpected defeat to Deportivo Riestra in the league.
Giménez has shaken off the right adductor problem that sidelined him in recent matches. An important option up front, he returned ahead of the scheduled timetable and has demonstrated he is in optimal condition. His power and goal threat will be vital against the Chilean side's defensive block.
Palacios had been nursing an overload in the right pectineus muscle and had been managing his workload. His recovery has progressed well and he has been given medical clearance to travel with the Xeneize delegation to his home country.
Their availability gives coach Arruabarrena far greater flexibility for a pivotal contest in Rancagua. Having rested several players for this tie, pressure has grown. Boca must protect the advantage from the first meeting at their stadium, secured by a goal from Miguel Merentiel, to reach the round of 16.
