Inter Milan starlet Francesco Pio Esposito netted his second Champions League goal in last night’s defeat at Bodo/Glimt.

According to the Italian media via L’Interista, the 20-year-old’s first-half strike kept Inter’s dream of reaching the Round of 16 alive.

Cristian Chivu decided to bench star center-forward Marcus Thuram in favor of Pio Esposito.

Indeed, the young gun partnered up with Lautaro Martinez in the final third.

However, the latter had to leave the pitch midway through the second half due to injury, with Thuram taking his place.

Francesco Pio Esposito returned to the scoresheet in the Champions League for the first time since Matchday 3.

Indeed, he scored in Inter’s thumping 4-0 win at Royale Union Saint-Gilloise in October.

However, he had since gone four consecutive European games without scoring until last night.

Furthermore, he nearly registered an assist for Lautaro at the start of the second half.

Unfortunately, El Toro couldn’t score from a promising position, as the woodwork stood in his way.
