Tottenham Hotspur travel to the Arctic Circle on Tuesday for their second Champions League fixture, facing familiar foes Bodø/Glimt at the Aspmyra Stadium.
The match is the Norwegian champions’ historic first-ever Champions League home game. They will be looking for revenge after their Europa League semi-final defeat to Spurs just a few months ago, while Spurs seek to maintain their perfect start in the competition.
The hosts have major injury doubts over key players Daniel Bassi and Brede Moe, who both suffered groin problems recently. In addition, they will be without their captain, Ulrik Saltnes, due to illness. Striker Kasper Waarts Høegh will lead the line.
Thomas Frank’s squad is stretched thin by injuries and ineligibility. Key players James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski, and Yves Bissouma are all unavailable, while striker Dominic Solanke is also out. Ben Davies is in contention for the trip to Norway after returning to training.
The Norwegian champions are in excellent form, unbeaten in their last ten matches across all competitions. They showed remarkable character in their Champions League debut, coming from 2-0 down to draw with Slavia Prague. However, they have a dreadful historical record against English teams, losing all five of their previous encounters.
Spurs’ form has been inconsistent, and they are coming off a disappointing 1-1 home draw with bottom-of-the-table Wolves. However, they have won their last two European away games. A victory here would see them win three in a row on the road in Europe for the first time since 2013.
Bodo/Glimt predicted XI: Lund; Sjovold, Bjortuft, Nielsen, Aleesami; Fet, Berg, Auklend; Blomberg, Hogh, Hauge
Tottenham Hotspur predicted XI: Vicario; Porro, Danso, Van de Ven, Spence; Sarr, Palhinha, Bergvall, Simons, Kudus; Richarlison
The match will be broadcast live on TNT Sports 2 and discovery+ in the UK. Coverage begins at 7:30 pm BST.
