A body has been found in the search for missing Birmingham City supporter Paul Pike, who disappeared after attending a match in Derby last weekend. Officers made the discovery at about 10.30am on 29 March.
Formal identification has not yet taken place. His family have been informed and have asked for privacy. Derbyshire Police said they are not treating the death as suspicious and do not believe there was any third-party involvement.
Paul Pike, 18, who has autism and ADHD, went missing after watching Birmingham City’s match against Derby at Pride Park last Saturday, 21 March.
It was believed his last known location was on the path near the River Derwent. Officers searching undergrowth later found items thought to belong to him by the path next to Pride Park.
Large numbers of people from the local area and from Birmingham joined the search in recent days. Thanks were extended to those who supported the effort, and a file is being prepared for the coroner.
