North Macedonian striker Miovski takes a Rangers pop and has indirectly joined the growing list of Rangers players taking a dig at manager Russell Martin.
The former Aberdeen man was on press duties prior to Falkirk against Rangers this weekend and said something very, very telling which all Rangers fans will agree with.
As we know, Russell Martin has been recently discussing how the turnaround will take time, how everything will take time, how this will take time, and how that will take time. In short, not the news that Rangers fans wanted to hear — that we can fix this and it must change immediately. He has backed down instead by asking for time and saying that this is not an overnight process.
However, his star striker Miovski has completely contradicted this and has stated what Rangers fans need to hear — and that is categorically that Rangers must win. They must win yesterday. Specifically, he said, “At this club you don’t get time.” That is directly contravening what his manager said.
Consequently, while not strictly a dig directly at Martin, it certainly feels like one. Martin is trying to buy time — time he doesn’t have. Well, time he does have with his owners, but not with the fans. His striker Miovski contradicts that. He knows you don’t get time at Rangers.
Rangers is not about giving him a chance or giving them time, as the old crew who have gone completely silent used to say. Instead, Miovski knows that it’s immediate. His manager doesn’t agree.
Does this mean Miovski will be out now? Probably. The same thing happened with Joe Rothwell — he took an indirect dig at Russell Martin by liking a post which endorsed the fact that he had been played out of position, or criticised it, we should say.
Nico Raskin, of course, also fell out with the manager. So did James Tavernier, by not actually backing him when he had the chance.
In short, there’s a growing list of Rangers players who are publicly willing to call out Russell Martin — not directly, not explicitly, but by saying the very opposite of what their manager would say.
So, we’ll endorse as Miovski takes a Rangers pop on it. Thank you very much.
