Bologna coach Tedesco gets two-match ban, Atalanta midfielder one game for insult | OneFootball

Bologna coach Domenico Tedesco was given a two-match ban and President Joey Saputo suspended until September 30 for insulting the referee, with Atalanta midfielder Gianluca Gaetano also punished.

The Lega Serie A disciplinary commission verdicts are in after the Week 3 matches were completed on Monday evening.

Bologna did not take their 2-2 draw with Sassuolo well, and are going to have to do without two of their chiefs going forward.

Tedesco and Saputo banned

Tedesco was sent off from the touchline for dissent and it seems continued his protests in the tunnel after the match.

This is what was described in the referee’s report and that of the fourth official, earning him a two-match Serie A ban and €5,000 fine.

Bologna President Saputo was also penalised for using offensive language towards the officials on the touchline, continuing this attitude in the tunnel, and he has been suspended until September 30.

Meanwhile, Atalanta midfielder Gaetano was given a one-match ban and €10,000 fine for insulting the referee at the final whistle of their defeat to Roma.

He had been shown the red card, although coach Maurizio Sarri denied there had been any insults.
