Bologna have reportedly agreed a deal worth €10m to sign 23-year-old striker Nicolò Cambiaghi from Atalanta after his loan with Empoli.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Tuttomercatoweb and others, the negotiations are down to the final details and he could have his medical over the next 24-48 hours.
The cost of the operation will be €10m plus bonuses.
Cambiaghi had also been linked with a potential transfer to Lazio, Napoli, Parma and Como, but is going to be in the Champions League with Bologna.
A product of the Atalanta youth academy, he also had loans with Reggiana and Pordenone before spending the last 12 months with Empoli.
It was far from a productive campaign for him, scoring just one goal and providing five assists in 37 Serie A appearances.
He is a support striker and tends to play on the left wing, but can also do well on the right or in a deeper role.
This will be the third new signing of the summer for Bologna, who already picked up Emil Holm from Spezia and free agent Juan Miranda.
