Serie A side Bologna FC have submitted an offer north of €15m to sign Lille centre-back Alexsandro (25), according to a report this Friday from L’Equipe. The 25-year-old Brazilian joined Les Dogues from Portuguese outfit Chaves two years ago in a €2m deal. Alexsandro proved one of Ligue 1’s most reliable and consistent centre-backs. The Brazilian was rewarded with improved terms last January, tying him to the Nord side with a contract running until 2028.
The outlet understands that Alexsandro would be open to joining the Serie A side and consequently playing in the revamped 36-team Champions League with Bologna. I Rossoblù are in the market for a centre-back on the back of Riccardo Calafiori’s €45m sale to Arsenal. However, Lille intend to retain the services of Alexsandro with head coach Bruno Genesio so far heavily reliant on a back three. Besides, Les Dogues already parted ways with centre-back Leny Yoro, who joined Manchester United in a €70m deal.
Lille are one step away from qualifying for the Champions League with Les Dogues leading 2-0 on aggregate against Slavia Prague before Wednesday’s return leg playoff round in Czechia.
