Bompastor explained how proud she was of the team after coming back from a difficult week.

“Everyone can be proud of everyone in this team, staff and players,” she said. “Because this week has been really tough for us in terms of emotions.

“Being able to come and just focus on football and put the performance we were able to put today shows a lot of the character we have in this team. It’s really important when you want to perform.”

Lauren James scored a brilliant second goal for Chelsea in the match and her manager believes that she still has more to come.

“A good performance from LJ,” Bompastor added. “She helped the team to win the game and scored a great goal.

“She is trying to get back to her best level and she is doing really well right now. I’m really pleased with how she is playing and how she contributes to the team.”

Bompastor reflected on the win further.

“Really pleased with the result,” she said. “As I said before every game is really important for us. Right now we are performing well in the basics.

“It took us a while to score the first goal but in the second half we took control of the game.”
