Warren Bondo has shed some light on how he is settling in at AC Milan, insisting the team have the duty to believe in a top four comeback.

Milan had been linked with a move for Bondo since 2022 when he was playing in the second division in France, and their pursuit was reignited in the winter mercato when Ismael Bennacer departed for Marseille.

The Frenchman – who was playing for Monza prior – signed a long-term contract with Milan. He arrived carrying an injury and thus had to wait some time before making his debut, though he started the last two games against Lecce and Como.

It will be interesting to see what happens with Milan’s midfield department given the imminent arrival of a new sporting director and probable change in coach, but whatever happens Bondo seems to be a fixed pillar for the future.

Bondo gave an interview to SportMediaset which was released on Wednesday evening and he answered questions about his time at Milan so far and how the remainder of the season will go.

How much do you believe in fourth place?

“Yes, even the coach always says that it can be done, there are still nine games and points to take. There are games against direct opponents. I have faith in my team-mates to do it.”

How much weight does the AC Milan shirt have?

“It’s not a fear but a strength. I’m at Milan and it’s a great team that helps us a lot. For me it’s a strength.”

You returned to your hometown in Paris and were welcomes…

“I’m from Paris Sud and when I came back on Sunday I celebrated a bit with family, friends and everyone for signing with Milan. I had a good time, I ate and everything went well.”

Milan have two wins out of two when you started, could it be a coincidence?

“I don’t know, I do everything I can to help the team. It’s good that we won two games in a row when I was on the pitch. I went through a difficult time but now we’ve won two games, I’m happy for the team and for reaching our goal of fourth place and going to the Champions League.”
