Sevilla will be indirectly represented at the Ballon d'Or awards, with Yassine Bono, Unai Emery and Luis de la Fuente among the nominees. The gala is set for 26 October in London after Tuesday 8 September's announcement.

Diario de Sevilla reports that Bono is shortlisted for the Yashin Trophy for the fourth time, after nominations in 2022, 2023 and 2025, when he finished third.

The Morocco goalkeeper played for Sevilla from 2019 to 2023, initially on loan from Girona then permanently. He made 142 appearances, kept 58 clean sheets and even scored against Real Valladolid.

Bono lifted the Europa League twice with Sevilla, in 2020 and 2023. He won the 2021-22 Zamora Trophy, the club's first by a goalkeeper. In August 2023 he joined Al-Hilal for about €20 million.

Unai Emery is again up for the coach prize after a landmark era in Nervión. He led Sevilla from January 2013 to June 2016, winning three straight Europa Leagues, reaching a Copa del Rey final and posting 76 LaLiga points in 2014-15.

He has often said Sevilla taught him to compete and win in Europe. Most recently he won the latest UEFA Europa League with Aston Villa, underpinning his nomination.

Luis de la Fuente completes the trio. Spain's head coach, fresh from winning the World Cup, played for Sevilla from 1987 to 1991 and later coached the youth side, helping shape Jesús Navas, Antonio Puerta and Sergio Ramos.

From goalmouth to dugout to academy, their paths highlight Sevilla's enduring imprint on elite honours.
