Gabriel Bontempo was rated best as Santos beat Atlético-MG 1-0 at Vila Belmiro, ending a run of two defeats. Substitute Moisés struck the winner after the break.
The Campeonato Brasileiro match on Saturday saw coach Cuca sent off inside 25 minutes. Moisés was introduced 10 minutes into the second half. According to Diario Do Peixe, Bontempo was the standout.
Operating wide on the right, Bontempo linked sharply with Gabigol and Igor Vinícius. He spurned a clear opening in the second half yet still topped the ratings with 7.5.
Neymar started deep then pushed higher and impressed. Gabigol had a goal ruled out but set up Moisés, with Vinícius lively going forward and Gustavo Henrique reading the game well.
Goalkeeper Gabriel Brazão was largely a spectator, though he produced a fine save from Atlético’s only shot. Lucas Veríssimo was secure and started the move for the winner, and Escobar made a vital first-half block after an early booking.
Willian Arão improved build-up and presence, while Christian Oliva could not match recent displays. Rony’s industry could not mask a poor performance and he received the lowest mark, while Thaciano and Lautaro Diaz featured too late to rate.
Cuca was given 5 in the ratings, while Moisés’s cameo was marked as decisive.
