Bontempo picks up muscle injury, ruled out for Santos

Santos announced on Friday that Gabriel Bontempo is injured. The midfielder sustained an injury to the adductor muscle of his right thigh after the match against Fluminense, for the 22nd round of the Brazilian Championship.

The coordinator of Santos' Health Center, Rodrigo Zogaib, explained the care for the Vila Boy and also the current stage of treatment.

"Bontempo suffered an injury to the adductor muscle, grade 2A in the British classification, which indicates an injury without significant fiber rupture, but with a slightly larger edema. Currently, he has been in treatment for nine days. Our estimated return to activities is between 14 and 20 days," he said.

Bontempo, therefore, will be a loss in the match against Atlético-MG, on Sunday, for the 23rd round of the Brasileirão.

The midfielder has played 30 professional games in 2025, 17 of them as a starter. The boy has two goals and two assists this season.
