Bonuses, family travel, Deschamps succession: FFF rift unsettled France’s World Cup | OneFootball

L'Équipe reports that a widening split between the FFF hierarchy and the France camp, spanning bonuses, cryotherapy, family travel and the Deschamps succession, has unsettled Les Bleus’ World Cup.

The rift dates back to March’s tour in the United States and has deepened in recent months. It has set senior federation figures Philippe Diallo, Erwan Le Prévost and Jean-François Vilotte at odds with Mohamed Sanhadji, Kylian Mbappé and Didier Deschamps on the team side.

France lost 0-2 to Spain in the World Cup semi-finals the previous day, then returned to their Boston base in evident gloom.

Back in Paris, at FFF headquarters, director general Jean-François Vilotte presented to staff the proposed law (PPL) on reforming professional sport, opening by congratulating the players and staff for their run in the United States.

Points of contention had accumulated both before and during the tournament, with disputes cutting across operational support and off-field arrangements.
