Leeds United’s 1-0 defeat to Manchester City, coupled with another setback for West Ham, has prompted an updated prediction of the final Premier League table.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, bookmakers have produced a new projected finish with big odds on Leeds relegation.

Leeds hosted Pep Guardiola’s second-placed side on Saturday evening, having lost just two of their last 14 Premier League matches. They created several good chances to lead. None were taken and Antoine Semenyo scored in first-half stoppage time, the only goal.

City missed several other big chances but Leeds’ display was encouraging, and the gap to the relegation zone was unchanged.

Third-bottom West Ham lost 5-2 at Liverpool. A crushing blow also hit second-bottom Burnley, who battled from 3-0 down to 3-3 against Brentford only to suffer a heart-breaking reverse.

Sunderland, who have been sliding, took a point from a 1-1 draw at Bournemouth.

The updated rundown places Arsenal first, Manchester City second, Manchester United third, Aston Villa fourth, Liverpool fifth and Chelsea sixth.
