Inter Milan received encouraging news on Hakan Calhanoglu as the recovery of the Turkish midfielder continues to make clear progress following the adductor problem that forced him off after just ten minutes against Liverpool.
While Francesco Acerbi looks set for a much longer spell on the sidelines, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Calhanoglu’s condition is improving rapidly and is no longer considered a concern.
Unlike Acerbi, the former Milan midfielder did not undergo scans yesterday. His adductor strain is responding well to treatment and, for now, Inter will monitor him day by day.
Should further checks be needed, he is expected to undergo only an ultrasound.

The early signs, however, are positive, even if Cristian Chivu will err on the side of caution and exclude him from the Genoa match.
With Calhanoglu out, Piotr Zielinski is expected to take the reins in midfield, just as he did against Liverpool.
The Pole’s ability to dictate play will be key as Inter look to maintain rhythm without their usual regista.
Looking ahead, optimism remains, but with limits.
Calhanoglu’s recovery is moving in the right direction.
However, it is still uncertain whether he will be ready in time for the Supercoppa Italiana semi-final.
The match is scheduled against Bologna on Friday 19, for 20:00 CET.
Inter hope their talisman will be available.
But a final decision will depend on how he responds in the next few sessions.
