In what comes as a huge sigh of relief for Real Madrid, reports from Mundo Deportivo confirm that Kylian Mbappe will be available for their upcoming La Liga fixture against Getafe this Sunday.

The French forward, who has scored 14 goals and two assists already this season, played only one of France’s two matches and is now ready to rejoin the squad.

Unlike his teammates, who returned to training on Tuesday, Mbappe will link up with the team on Thursday, with plans carefully managed to avoid aggravating his right ankle issue.

His recovery is being handled with extra caution, but if there are no setbacks, he will be available for Xabi Alonso’s selection.

For Alonso, this is excellent news. Having his star man back provides both confidence and attacking firepower.

Mbappe has been in red-hot form, scoring in ten consecutive matches, and his presence will undoubtedly lift Madrid’s morale ahead of the clash.

Cautious approach from Real Madrid

Mbappe’s recent ankle discomfort began during the match against Villarreal, which saw him join the French national team carrying minor pain.

During that international camp, he barely trained for most of the week but still managed to make an impact against Azerbaijan.

However, he was unable to finish the match and was later released by Didier Deschamps ahead of France’s fixture against Iceland.

Upon his return to Madrid, the medical team immediately conducted tests and thankfully ruled out any serious injury.

What is Real Madrid’s plan?

The plan remains for him to skip the early training sessions this week before gradually rejoining full team practice by Thursday.

Real Madrid are taking no chances, preferring to ensure that their most valuable forward is fully ready before the weekend.

If his condition continues to improve, fans can expect to see Mbappe lead the line against Getafe, ready to extend his remarkable scoring streak and continue his explosive start to the season.
