According to Mario Cortegana of The Athletic, sources close to Jude Bellingham have confirmed that the Real Madrid star is now expected to return to action in late September, rather than October as initially projected.

This development comes as welcome news for Los Blancos, although the club remains determined not to take any risks with the midfielder’s recovery.

Bellingham has been out of action for nearly two months after undergoing shoulder surgery, and while his rehabilitation has progressed smoothly, Real Madrid will not rush his return under any circumstances.

The medical staff and manager Xabi Alonso have adopted a “zero risk” policy to ensure that there is no possibility of a relapse once the player is reintegrated into the squad.

Might return to training soon

Last week, while the majority of Madrid’s internationals trained at Valdebebas between Monday and Wednesday, Bellingham was still absent as he continues his gradual recovery process.

The plan now is for the England international to increase his workload in the coming days, beginning with light ball work before transitioning into partial group sessions.

If his body responds positively, his return could happen ahead of the original schedule.

Despite being sidelined, Bellingham has remained deeply engaged with his recovery and is reportedly feeling optimistic about his progress.

Eager to be back

Those close to him describe a player who is eager to get back on the pitch and help his teammates.

His determination has never been in question, and this latest update suggests that his comeback is edging closer.

Real Madrid, however, are prioritising caution above all else. Even if the 22-year-old proves he is fit sooner, the club will follow certain protocol, only allowing him to return when they are fully confident he can play without setbacks.

Initially, the target had been set for mid-October, but the improved outlook now raises hopes that Madrid might have their influential midfielder back slightly earlier.
