Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund already have three young Italy talents in their squad, and according to Friday’s reports, they are looking to add Genoa teenager Roberto Scaglione into the mix as well.
According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Dortmund are at the closing stages of negotiations with Genoa for the 16-year-old Scaglione, who could be heading to Signal Iduna Park for a fee in the region of €1m.
Scaglione is yet to appear in Serie A, but earned two call-ups to the matchday squad under Patrick Vieira in 2024-25. By being named on the bench for a 3-2 Serie A loss against Atalanta last May, Scaglione became the youngest player in Genoa’s history to be called up for a game in the Italian top flight at the age of 15.

Scaglione is an attacking midfielder by trade and has been a regular in Italy’s youth teams from U14s upwards. He signed his first professional contract with Genoa in January earlier this year.
If a move to Dortmund does materialise, Scaglione will find three other Italy youth stars in the locker room: Namely Filippo Mane, Luca Reggiani and Samuele Inacio.
