Karim Adeyemi has become the biggest talking point at Barcelona lately, after the club came from nowhere to complete a swoop on the German international.

Indeed, everything suggests Adeyemi is on the verge of joining Barcelona this summer, in a deal worth around €22 million.

And it appears Borussia Dortmund have already confirmed in a way that their star player is leaving this summer.

Dortmund confirms Adeyemi is talking to other clubs

As Borussia Dortmund kickstart their performance for the season ahead, some of their available players were poised to report in for a performance test.

Adeyemi was among the eligible players as he was not a part of the German national team for the World Cup and was, therefore, not eligible for an extended summer break.

But Dortmund have now confirmed Adeyemi has not reported in for the performance test, as he is in talks with other clubs.

“Karim Adeyemi and Kjell Watjen will not be participating in today’s performance testing. Both players have been granted time off to hold talks with other clubs,” Dortmund posted on X.

This effectively confirms that Adeyemi is set to leave Dortmund this summer, with Barcelona being that ‘other club’ in talks with the German star.

This is much harder to ascertain, though various media outlets have suggested that the club could be announced in the near future.

Dortmund’s confirmation is a crucial first step. It is no secret that Barcelona are trying to wrap up the deal as fast as possible, at the request of Hansi Flick.

The German tactician wants Adeyemi to report to Barcelona training as soon as possible, as he looks to integrate the explosive winger into his tactical setup.

Keeping that in mind, it won’t be surprising to see Barcelona confirm the Adeyemi by the end of next week, whereas the club may soon announce deal to sign another explosive winger in Jesse Bisiwu.
