Borussia Dortmund ‘hope to finalise’ El Mala transfer this weekend | OneFootball

Express reports that Borussia Dortmund hope to finalise the signing of Said El Mala from 1.FC Köln this weekend, with a third bid planned.

That target replaces an earlier intention to present the winger at the start of this week, which did not materialise.

Dortmund have been edging towards Köln’s rumoured €50 million valuation in recent weeks. Their latest proposal is €48 million plus €2 million in easily met add-ons, with a possible extra €5 million payable.

The sell-on clause is the main obstacle. Köln want 10 percent of any future transfer fee, while Dortmund are offering 10 percent of any future profit.

As of Tuesday midday, no formal offer had been received in Köln. A new submission is expected shortly, with BVB hoping for a breakthrough.

If they fail to sign the 19-year-old left winger, Dortmund will soon turn to a Plan B in the transfer market. Jadon Sancho, Ethan Nwaneri, Ibrahim Mbaye, Giannis Konstantelias and Yeremay Hernández are on their shortlist.
