Borussia Dortmund in pole position to sign €20m Barcelona defender | OneFootball

Barcelona are set for a very busy end to the summer transfer window, both in terms of arrivals and departures. Regarding the latter, they have sold Ferran Torres to Paris Saint-Germain in the last 24 hours, and soon, he could be followed out of the exit door by Hector Fort.

In the last seven days, Barcelona have taken the decision to exile Fort – among five other players – from first team training, so as not to risk an injury that would jeopardise an exit. The 20-year-old full-back, who spent last season on loan at Elche, is not in Hansi Flick’s plans for the 2026-27 campaign, and thus, his departure is almost certain.

Fort is prepared to leave, and while his preference would be to join a Premier League club, he could instead end up at Borussia Dortmund. According to Matteo Moretto (via MD), the Bundesliga giants are in the pole position at this stage, as they seek to add competition at right-back following the departure of Yan Couto to Como.

Barcelona want to include buy-back clause in Fort agreement

Barcelona have made it known that they want €15-20m to sell Fort this summer, although that price is likely to be brought down, given that their preference is to include a significant sell-on clause and/or buy-back option as part of any deal. They understand that Fort has a lot of potential, and although he does not count for Flick now, they want to retain control over his future, so that he can return to the Spotify Camp Nou if his development progresses well.

Dortmund would be a very solid move for Fort. He would get plenty of minutes at a club that has created countless stars over the last 15-20 years, so if he does end up there, it could be a deal that suits all parties.
