Borussia Dortmund join Roma in race for Kvernadze | OneFootball

After exploring a myriad of prospects last summer without ever landing a spot, the solution to the right-footed left-back conundrum could be right near home.

Located 90 kilometers from Rome, 23-year-old Giorgi Kvernadze is establishing himself as one of the most interesting players in this first month of Serie A.

His performances have not gone unnoticed, and sporting director Tony D’Amico has reportedly already set his sights on him and is ready to bring him to Trigoria in the next winter transfer window.

Between the league and the Coppa Italia, the Georgian has already scored five goals, the last of which came against Como less than a week ago.

The player, both in terms of his characteristics and his shared agent (Mamuka Jugeli), resembles his compatriot Kvicha Kvaratskhelia. Having arrived in Italy in 2024 for less than a million euros from Kolkheti Poti, a fee at least twenty times that will be needed to snatch him from the Ciociaria club.

In addition to the already confirmed interest from Robinio Vaz’s Hull City, there’s also reported interest from Borussia Dortmund, who are reportedly making their first steps and inquiring about the new Georgian football star.

Given his age and characteristics, Kvernadze represents the ideal candidate for the sustainable Roma team that the Friedkins are building brick by brick: all that’s left to do is wait.
