Sport Bild reports that if Borussia Dortmund winger Karim Adeyemi demands a release clause, then they will aim to set a high price for the clause.
Alongside negotiating a new contract for Nico Schlotterbeck, Adeyemi’s deal also expires in the same summer as the defender, 2027, and Dortmund are working on extending his contract too. However, it has not proved easy.
The 23-year-old is reportedly demanding a release clause in his new contract, which Dortmund want to avoid. However, if they have to include such a clause, a plan is in place.
Die Schwarzgelben will set a high price when it comes to the release clause, the report suggests that it will be worth at least €80m. This is a price that the club would also consider, a sale, a release clause or not.
After a good start to the season, as Dortmund have struggled, so has Adeyemi. The 23-year-old has three goals and three assists in 14 games so far, but has failed to provide a goal contribution in eight games. But to give him the benefit of the doubt, Serhou Guirassy and Maximilian Beier have also hit a block in recent weeks.
