Sport Bild reports that Borussia Dortmund possess a favorable purchase clause for intriguing Japanese talent Takato Yamamoto. The 18-year-old is currently in Dortmund on loan from Japanese outfit Gamba Osaka. Should he continue to impress for die Schwarzgelben, Yamamoto can become a permanent BVB player for just €1.5m.
Despite a strong performance in Dortmund’s first pre-season friendly, Dortmund head coach Niko Kovac freely admitted that Yamamoto’s signing flew under his radar this summer. One solitary goal in a friendly obviously isn’t sufficient to change the fact that the teenage talent remains earmarked for the Dortmund reserves.
Matters may yet get more intriguing still as Dortmund prepare to head off on their pre-season Asian tour. Presumably, Kovac will give Yamamoto a chance to play against one of his hometown clubs, Cerezo Osaka, when the two meet for a friendly on July 29th.
