As part of his Real Madrid presidency push, Enrique Riquelme claimed that he will bring Jurgen Klopp and Erling Haaland to the Bernabeu. However, the representatives of both have already dismissed these suggestions, and another denial has some from someone that knows them both well: Borussia Dortmund president Hans-Joachim Watzke.
Watzke has worked with Klopp and Haaland during his years at Dortmund, and when asked about the recent links with Real Madrid, he was blunt. In regards to the former, he does not expect a return to the dugout at the Bernabeu or anywhere else any time soon, as per Diario AS (via Cadena SER).
“Jürgen Klopp is a great coach. He has always shown it, but now he has no intention of coaching any team. He is not going to sign for anyone. He is convinced of this. He knows what he has to do and he doesn’t have to coach any team at the moment. We talk a lot, I would say that something always happens, but that’s why it wasn’t necessary because I know what he thinks.”

Watzke also claimed that Haaland will not end up at Real Madrid this summer, although he admitted that he does expect the Norwegian striker to end up making the move from Manchester City in the years to come.
“I know very well what he thinks and I can say that of course he admires Real Madrid and that in the future he would like to play for Real Madrid, but next season he will continue to play for Manchester City. Without a doubt.
“But he loves Real Madrid and doesn’t hide it. I think in two or three years he’ll play there, but not so soon. He has not committed himself to anyone, as the father has said.”
