Fabrizio Romano reports that Borussia Dortmund have reached a personal agreement with Hoffenheim striker Maximilian Beier.

The 21-year-old will sign a long-term contract at the club, with Sky Germany reporting that the contract will be until 2029. Dortmund have now turned their attention to negotiating a fee with Hoffenheim.

Dortmund’s first offer for Beier was said to be worth around €25m, but Hoffenheim want more. It has previously been said that Hoffenheim’s valuation is based on Beier’s release clause that was worth €30m earlier this summer but has now expired. If the fee is €25m or €30m, the price is no longer a problem for Dortmund after the sale of Niclas Füllkrug to West Ham earlier in the week.

Beier had been attracting interest from clubs outside of Germany, but Dortmund have stepped up their pursuit of the 21-year-old as they look to replace Füllkrug.

Last season, Beier scored 16 times for Hoffenheim in his first full Bundesliga season. His form earned him a call-up to the German national team for EURO 2024 where he had a cameo against Switzerland in Germany’s final group game.
