Edin Terzić’s side held a slender advantage from the first leg as both teams enjoyed openings in the early stages of the return clash.

Karim Adeyemi seeing a shot blocked before Gonçalo Ramos dragged a shot wide for the hosts while Julian Ryerson rifled a volley into the side netting.

Les Parisiens attempted to respond through Ousmane Dembélé’s shot from the righthand side of the area but skied his effort.

But they still had to Gianluigi Donnarumma to thank for keeping them in the tie as he produced a strong stop to deny Adeyemi on the counterattack.

At the other end, Mats Hummels produced a superb sliding interception to prevent Kylian Mbappé from pulling the hosts level in the tie.

Shortly before half-time, Fabián Ruiz produced a rifled effort from outside the box which Nico Schlotterbeck steered off course with a good block.

Things didn’t improve for Luis Enrique’s side after the interval as Warren Zaïre-Emery’s effort against the post after Ramos fluffed his lines.

They were made to rue that miss just a matter of minutes later as Hummels met Julian Brandt’s corner at the far post to double Dortmund’s advantage in the tie.

PSG hit the woodwork several times over with Nuno Mendes, Mbappé and Vitinha all producing effort that rebounded back off Gregor Kobel’s goalframe.

Dortmund will face the winner of Wednesday’s other semi-final between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich at Wembley on 1 June.
