Up next for FC Barcelona is a trip to Germany for their latest fixture in this season’s UEFA Champions League. Flying in the competition so far, La Blaugrana are just one step away from being among the final four teams in the contest. However, to do that, Barcelona must first get through Borussia Dortmund.

This is now the second-leg of their quarterfinal tie, and the first-leg of this matchup ended quite favorably for Barcelona as they came away with a 4-0 victory at the Montjuic Stadium. Now, however, Dortmund will be the team that has the support of its home crowd behind it.

Match Overview:

Heading into this fixture, one notable absentee for Barcelona will be Alejandro Balde. The Spanish left-back got injured recently and he is expected to be sidelined for a few weeks. Fortunately, Hansi Flick’s team has enough depth to provide alternatives in that position and Gerard Martin could be the answer.

In terms of form, Barça have remained simply unbeatable in the entirety of 2025 so far. Without a single loss this year, Hansi Flick’s team is creating something truly special so far. Over the course of their last five games as well, La Blaugrana have four wins and a draw.

They have scored 11 goals in those five games, and have conceded only two goals in return. One of those games just so happened to be the 4-0 victory over Dortmund that the German team will now be looking to make a comeback from on aggregate.

As for the home side, their form has not exactly been too positive as of late. With two wins, two losses, and one draw in their last five games, Borussia Dortmund are in real need of some confidence and motivation.

Both of these two teams have already met twice this season already, with Barcelona coming out victorious on both occasions. Now, with the support of their fans, Dortmund will attempt to do something historic.

However, Hansi Flick’s men have no intention of making it easy for them in any way. This Barcelona team is built like a machine, and once the parts start turning, there is usually no stopping the onslaught that they can bring upon their opponents.
