Manchester United have been keeping tabs on Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi ahead of the winter transfer window.

However, the 23-year-old prefers a move to Arsenal rather than United.

According to the Sunday Mirror, the Manchester club’s bosses have sounded out Adeyemi’s agent, Jorge Mendes, about the chances of signing him next summer.

Manager Ruben Amorim is now preparing to turn his attention elsewhere, as the German has made it clear his preferred destination is Arsenal and not United.

Dortmund’s £75 million valuation is also an issue, as the Red Devils are unwilling to pay such a high fee.

Adeyemi has been a key player for the Black and Yellow since joining them from Red Bull Salzburg in 2022.

He has made 122 appearances across all competitions over the last three and a half seasons, bagging 30 goals and 22 assists.

Dortmund want to keep him at the Signal Iduna Park and are looking to tie him down to a new contract. His current deal expires in 2027.

While Adeyemi is a quality winger, United are already well stocked in the forward positions, having signed Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, and Benjamin Sesko last summer.

United’s priority is bolstering the midfield, with Elliot Anderson and Carlos Baleba their top targets.
