Newcastle United entertained Brentford at St. James’ Park earlier this evening as they hoped to secure a good result at home in the Premier League. The Magpies made a decent start to the game and got themselves ahead in the 24th minute thanks to Sven Botman’s effort. Vitaly Janelt equalised for the visitors just 13 minutes later before Igor Thiago gave Brentford the lead from the penalty spot in injury time as Eddie Howe’s men went into the half-time break 2-1 down on the scoreline.
Newcastle found the leveller via Bruno Guimaraes’ penalty in the 79th minute. However, Dango Ouattara scored the winning goal for the Bees just six minutes later. The contest finished with the Magpies crashing to a 3-2 loss in front of their home fans.
