Here is how the action broke down tonight at Q2 and BMO.

Bouanga makes history as LAFC coast

Scorers: Bouanga 45+1', 72', 86', Son 45+3; Vera 14'

It was a night to remember for Denis Bouanga and LAFC as the Black and Gold ran out 4-1 winners against a hapless Real Salt Lake at BMO Stadium.

A moment of real quality from RSL's Brayan Vera in the 14th minute was the only reason to smile for the visitors when he smashed a long-range drive into the top corner to open the scoring.

But it would be all LAFC from there, however, with budding dynamic duo Son Heung-min and Dennis Bouanga combining just before the break to level the score at one-all, with the iconic South Korean slipping a short pass into the path of the Gabonese forward to dispatch a finish into the far corner to give him 20 goals for the third consecutive season while becoming the first to achieve the feat.

Son would add his name to the scoresheet one minute later with an accurate finish into the bottom corner at the near post from just outside of the box, seeing him post seven goal contributions since his arrival in SoCal.

Though it was already his night, Bouanga would go on to confirm his brace after a one-two would slip him through on goal to chip his effort over Cabral, seeing him temporarily climb within a single goal of MLS-leader Lionel Messi (22) and level with Nashville’s Sam Surridge.

With four minutes left before the end of normal time, Bouanga would rise to the occasion to complete his three-goal evening from close range to join Messi at the league's goalscoring summit while putting MLS on notice that LAFC are the real deal after confirming their place in the postseason.

Stuver stands tall as Austin steal the points

Scorers: Rubio 43', Uzuni 90+6'; Minoungou 46'

Two Western Conference sides hoping to reach the 2025 MLS Cup Playoffs locked horns tonight, with Austin FC fighting to a 2-1 win against the Seattle Sounders at Q2 Stadium.

A dull first half briefly sprang to life in the 37th minute when Austin shot-stopper Brad Stuver brilliantly denied Cristian Roldan's close-range header at the near post.

Austin would repay Stuver by taking the lead six minutes later against the run of play, when Diego Rubio stripped Jackson Ragen of possession just outside of the center circle before racing into the box to dispatch a low effort past Andrew Thomas.

Seattle would pull level 35 seconds after the break, however, when leading scorer Danny Musovski was put into space before cutting back to substitute Georgi Minoungou, who scored with his first touch to bag his first MLS goal.

Stuver would come up big on two more occasions in the aftermath of the Sounders' equalizer before Austin went on to find a second goal, this time in the sixth minute of added time through Myrto Uzuni to guarantee all three points while pulling within a point of Seattle in the table.
