Bournemouth complete signing of Alvaro Rodriguez from Elche | OneFootball

Bournemouth have completed the signing of striker Alvaro Rodriguez from Elche, confirming their first addition of the summer under new head coach Marco Rose.

As reported by The Athletic, Bournemouth were in advanced talks and the transfer is worth about £21 million with a sell-on clause, with add-ons taking the package to £25.7 million.

Rodriguez turned 22 on Tuesday and arrives as a Uruguay youth international. Rose replaced Andoni Iraola after the Spaniard’s contract expired.

He said arriving in the Premier League feels a privilege, adding that the move fulfilled a childhood dream on his birthday and that he now wants to keep improving and show his ability.

A Real Madrid academy graduate, the 36-time La Liga champions are set to receive half of the fee. He made 10 senior appearances for Madrid, scoring one goal and providing one assist.

Rodriguez spent 2024-25 on loan at Getafe before joining Elche permanently in July last year, then recorded seven goals and five assists in 36 games in all competitions.
