Bournemouth have reportedly enquired about PSV Eindhoven winger Johan Bakayoko, according to the Daily Mail.
The 22-year-old Belgian international has garnered attention following standout performances in the Eredivisie and Champions League over the last couple of seasons.
Bakayoko, who joined PSV’s youth set-up in 2019, has progressed rapidly through the ranks, making his senior debut in February 2022.
He has subsequently bagged 33 goals and 22 assists in 120 appearances across all competitions for PSV.
His contributions were instrumental in PSV securing back-to-back league titles. He was named Eredivisie Talent of the Year in 2023/24.
Having previously been courted by Liverpool, Bakayoko could now be set for a move to Bournemouth.
The Cherries are reportedly prepared to offer around £20 million for the Belgian, whose current contract expires next year.
However, Bournemouth are not alone in the pursuit of Bakayoko and will need to act fast if they are to wrap up a deal for the exciting youngster.
Newcastle United have also been credited with an interest after Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo confirmed he would rather join Manchester United.
Bournemouth are set for a hectic summer of departures. Dean Huijsen has already exited, and Milos Kerkez is set to follow suit.
Illia Zabarnyi could also depart amid interest from Paris Saint-Germain. Manager Andoni Iraola is an option for Tottenham Hotspur after Ange Postecoglou’s dismissal.
