Bournemouth opens the door to a Semenyo departure

Antoine Semenyo is enjoying a sensational run of form, and his stellar performances have reignited Liverpool’s keen interest. This time, Bournemouth is no longer closing the door to a possible exit.

Signed from Bristol City in 2023, the Ghanaian international has become a key attacking force for the Cherries. After a successful last season (11 goals, 5 assists), he has kicked off the current campaign in similar fashion: 6 goals and 3 assists in 11 matches. Despite having extended his contract until 2030, Semenyo remains firmly on Liverpool’s radar, with the club reportedly tabling a £65 million bid, according to Indykaila News.

The club’s chief executive, Tim Bezbatchenko, made it clear that Bournemouth won’t stand in the player’s way at any cost:

When a club like Liverpool, Real or PSG comes knocking, who are we to prevent a player from fulfilling his dream?

Bezbatchenko even hinted at the possibility of a win-win compromise: "The idea is that everyone comes away satisfied." Adding fuel to the fire: Liverpool’s current sporting director, Richard Hughes, was the man who originally brought Semenyo to Bournemouth—a detail that could smooth negotiations this winter.
