Bournemouth place £100m valuation on Chelsea target Scott | OneFootball

Bournemouth have no intention of entertaining offers for Alex Scott in the January transfer window, amid transfer interest from Chelsea.

Chelsea saw a £64m bid rejected for Scott in the summer window and remain keen to sign the 23-year-old. Scott has less than two years to run on his contract with the Cherries and Bournemouth have been working on a potential extension.

Bournemouth remain aware of interest from Premier League rivals and have reportedly placed a £100m on Scott, following a summer in which several midfielders moved for massive fees. The price tags of Elliot Anderson (£116m), Morgan Rogers (£117m), Sandro Tonali (£100m) and Mateus Fernandes (£85m) have prompted the Bournemouth board to value Scott at a club-record fee.

According to transfer insider Dean Jones, Chelsea are prepared to wait until the summer to sign Scott. The Blues failed to land a replacement for Enzo Fernandez, who joined Manchester City for £125m on deadline day, and have Scott high on their shortlist to strengthen in midfield.

Xabi Alonso’s side are prepared to ‘lay the groundwork’ for a summer deal, should Bournemouth retain their hands-off stance for the January window.

Scott is currently with the England squad where he will hope to make his senior debut in the upcoming Nations League games.
