Blues bidding for a return to winning ways after disappointing midweek loss to Leeds
Chelsea head down to Bournemouth today, looking for a swift recovery to reassert their damaged title credentials in the Premier League.
The Blues received plenty of plaudits for their battling display with 10 men to earn a point against leaders Arsenal in a Stamford Bridge showdown last weekend.
That result ensured that Enzo Maresca’s young side remained within six points of their London rivals heading into the midweek round of fixtures.
Following a 3-1 defeat by strugglers Leeds on Wednesday night, the aforementioned gap now stands at nine and there are fresh questions as to whether Chelsea are genuine title contenders.
The ideal response would be a win over a Bournemouth side that have suffered a dip in recent weeks, letting a two-goal lead slip against Sunderland before losing at home to Everton on Tuesday night.
Bournemouth vs Chelsea is scheduled for a 3pm GMT kick-off today on Saturday December 6, 2025.
The match will take place at the Vitality Stadium in Bournemouth.
TV channel and live stream: In the UK, the game will not be televised live as it lands during the 3pm Saturday blackout.
Live blog: You can follow all the action on matchday via Standard Sport’s live blog, with expert analysis from Dom Smith at the ground.
Free highlights: The Sky Sports app and YouTube channel will show highlights from 5.15pm GMT, with Match of the Day broadcasting on BBC One at 10.20pm.
The Cherries will be without Tyler Adams because of suspension after the versatile midfielder was cautioned for a fifth time in the Premier League this season against Everton.
Lewis Cook serves the second of his three-match ban after being shown a red card in the loss to Sunderland.
Ben Gannon-Doak and Ryan Christie are out injured, but Marcos Senesi and David Brooks are available for Bournemouth again after serving bans. Veljko Milosavljevic is a major doubt and Matai Akinmboni is out.
Moises Caicedo, meanwhile, is Chelsea’s biggest absentee as he serves the second of his three-game suspension for his red card in the 1-1 draw with Arsenal.
Dario Essugo suffered a setback in his recovery earlier in the week so will miss the trip to the south coast, along with Levi Colwill and Romeo Lavia.
Cole Palmer is pushing to start after coming off the bench at Elland Road, while Reece James, Wesley Fofana and Pedro Neto are likely to return as Maresca rings the changes once again.

As mentioned above, this is a game both teams will feel they need to win on the back of poor midweek losses.
This is a tough one to predict, but we think Chelsea have enough quality to capitalise on Bournemouth’s bad run of form to get back to winning ways.
Chelsea to win, 2-1.
Chelsea emerged victorious in the corresponding fixture last season with Robert Sanchez saving a penalty from Evanilson before Christopher Nkunku’s late winner.

Chelsea wins: 15
