West Ham United travel to Bournemouth on Saturday, aiming to secure a third consecutive Premier League victory for the first time this season.
The Hammers have found a new lease of life under Nuno Espírito Santo. However, they face a formidable test against a Bournemouth side that has been exceptional at home. The Cherries, despite a recent dip, sit ninth in the table and will be desperate to bounce back from consecutive defeats.
Andoni Iraola has been dealt a significant double blow. Winger Ben Doak is out for several months with a hamstring injury. Additionally, Justin Kluivert is sidelined with an abductor problem. To make matters worse, star attacker Antoine Semenyo is a major doubt due to an ankle issue. On a positive note, Tyler Adams and Adam Smith are both available. They have successfully completed concussion protocols.
Nuno Espírito Santo will be without influential midfielder Lucas Paquetá. He is suspended after accumulating five yellow cards. Consequently, Tomáš Souček is expected to return to the starting lineup. In defence, Dinos Mavropanos and Niclas Füllkrug are back in training but remain doubts. Meanwhile, Ollie Scarles is definitively ruled out.
After a superb eight-match unbeaten run, the Cherries have hit a stumbling block. Specifically, they lost their last two games against Manchester City and Aston Villa. Despite this, their home form remains a major strength. In fact, they have won four of their five matches at the Vitality Stadium this season. This record has made it a fortress for Andoni Iraola’s side.
The Hammers have turned a corner under their new manager. Back-to-back wins over Newcastle and Burnley have lifted them to 18th. They are now within touching distance of safety. However, their away form is still a concern. Indeed, they have lost three of their five league matches on the road. Furthermore, they need to overcome a poor historical record in games immediately following international breaks.
Bournemouth predicted XI: Petrovic; Cook, Diakite, Senesi, Truffert; Scott, Adams; Semenyo, Brooks, Tavernier; Kroupi
West Ham United predicted XI: Areola; Wan-Bissaka, Todibo, Kilman, Diouf; Soucek, Potts, Fernandes; Bowen, Wilson, Summerville
This match will not air live in the UK due to the 3:00 pm GMT Saturday blackout.
