Bove announces In Un Battito documentary on cardiac arrest and Watford return | OneFootball

Edoardo Bove is releasing a documentary tracing his on-pitch cardiac arrest and his return to football with Watford.

According to Football Italia, the film, titled In Un Battito, translated as In A Heartbeat, is directed by Giovanni Troilo and is set to reach Italian cinemas soon.

Bove collapsed in December 2024, early in Fiorentina’s Serie A match against Inter at the Stadio Artemio Franchi while on loan from Roma. His heart stopped, he was resuscitated on the pitch, then taken to hospital, where doctors implanted a cardiac defibrillator.

The device, similar to Christian Eriksen’s, bars athletes from professional sport in Italy, so both left Serie A.

The film centres on the question, “Who am I without football?”, reflecting how the 22-year-old confronted the prospect of losing his career after almost losing his life.

Now 24, Bove is playing in England for Watford and has made seven appearances this season.
