According to Football Italia, Edoardo Bove attended Stadio Olimpico to bid farewell as he negotiates ending his Roma contract, aiming to continue his career at Watford after heart surgery.

Seen in the stands with his girlfriend, he was applauded by supporters who chanted "One of us" in tribute.

The midfielder collapsed during Fiorentina’s game against Inter in December 2024, prompting widespread concern across Italian football.

He later had an implanted cardiac defibrillator fitted as a safeguard against further irregularities.

Italian rules prohibit athletes from playing with such devices, even though several footballers elsewhere compete with them.

His loan at Fiorentina ended in June 2025, and he remains under contract with Roma.

That agreement is due to be terminated in the coming weeks, after which he can seek to continue his career abroad.

Bove, aged 23, came through Roma’s academy and has 77 Serie A appearances, with three goals and five assists.
