Edoardo Bove is set to leave Roma by mutual consent, the club agreeing to terminate his contract to allow him to resume his career abroad.

Domestic rules bar players fitted with an implantable cardioverter defibrillator from professional football in Italy, so the 23-year-old will have to move. Gazzetta suggests he is in good physical condition after a summer training programme in Rome overseen by a personal coach and medical staff.

All sessions were conducted safely, with positive responses to physical exertion.

After 13 months away from competitive football, Bove believes he is close to being ready to return, though full match fitness will take time.

He is open to proposals from abroad and no decision has yet been made on his next destination. Interest has emerged in recent months, particularly from Premier League clubs.
