West Ham United beat Bolton Wanderers 3-2 on Tuesday night to go top of the Championship, rising from 12th to first.

In the 13th minute Jarrod Bowen lashed in from close range to give the visitors the lead. Ethan Erhahon equalised (18.). Kyliane Dong won a penalty (26.) after a foul by Kyle Walker-Peters, and Rúben Rodrigues converted (27.). Konstantinos Mavropanos then headed in from a set piece to level before the break (31.).

After the restart, the Hammers introduced Joël Veltman (57.) and found their winner when his through ball released Bowen, who finished low into the far corner (77.). Bowen now has three league goals, third in the Championship scoring chart.

Mads Hermansen preserved the points with a reflex stop from Eoin Toal in the fifth minute of second half stoppage time.

Bolton registered 13 attempts, six on target. The Hammers hit seven efforts on target from 11 attempts.

Bolton drop from 15th to 22nd. Next, Bolton host Cardiff City. The Hammers host Wrexham.
